Malév invited to join oneworld

Malév, the national airline of Hungary, has accepted an invitation to join oneworld and is set to become part of the alliance within the next 15 months. It will significantly expand oneworld's network in central and east Europe, adding its attractive Budapest hub as a key hub for the alliance. Malév is one of the best regarded airline brand names in this region, with a proud reputation for quality customer service. Until the joining process is complete, it is business and service as usual for both Malév and oneworld.

oneworld welcomes Japan Airlines' move to join

oneworld has warmly welcomed the announcement by Japan Airlines that it is to seek membership of the alliance.  Both sides have committed to work towards completing as soon as possible the necessary agreements and setting a date for when the airline can start offering oneworld services and benefits.

JAL is the biggest carrier in the Asia-Pacific region.  It

would expand oneworld's existing network by around 10 per cent, adding 68 destinations - 56 of them in Japan and five in China.

Royal Jordanian set to join at turn of 2006/2007 

oneworld is also delighted to be welcoming Royal Jordanian to the alliance, with effect from around the turn of 2006/2007.  

It is the first carrier from an Arab region to join any of the global airline groupings, adding ten destinations and two countries in the Middle East and Gulf to the alliance map.
